Attach the ceiling fan s light kit wiring to the wiring harness hanging beneath the fan motor. If there is a bare ground wire in the fixture often found in ceiling fans and exterior fixtures twist it together with the ground wire from the cable and put a wire nut on it. Connect the black and blue wires in your fan if you only have 1 switch. Connect the green copper wires together.

The ground should be coming off of your frame. Jan 24 18 02 09 pm. This will allow you to control your fan and lights with a single switch. Now connect the neutral wires from the ceiling and fan together.

Remember that the hot black or red wire goes to the brass colored screw neutral white to the silver screw. Wire a switched outlet. Connect the black and blue wires coming out of your fan. Sometimes it is handy to have an outlet controlled by a switch.

Want to turn a lamp on with a light switch. Connect white wires together. Install the lamp globes and light. If you want to run both the light and fan on one switch twist the blue and black wire from the unit together.

Find the short green wire or the green ground screw on your ceiling fan hanging. From the switches 3 wire cable runs to the ceiling outlet box. Make a pigtail of the ground wire using two 6 inch lengths of bare wire and connect one ground wire to the fan switch and one to the light switch. Twist all the white wires in the box together and cap them.

Connect the red wire from the fan to the other terminal on the fan switch and the black wire to the light switch.
