To remove chewing gum from carpet get out your electric hair dryer. Take some toweling and soak up the rest and place some toweling on the wet spot and place a heavy object over it and leave for the night to dry. This oil is an excellent agent for getting gum out of your carpet. Ammonia solutions work on stains caused by gravy mayonnaise ink and pet accidents.

Now rinse with cold water to remove the cleaning solution from the carpet. Mix 1 tablespoon ammonia with 1 cup lukewarm water. Spray the solution on the carpet and let it. Leave the ammonia to sit for at least five minutes and blot clean until the spot no longer transfers and do not rub hard but gentle. Work the stain into the carpet and gently scrub the surface to work.

Use a butter knife or metal spatula to scrape the solid gum off the fibres. Use a piece of plastic wrap or a plastic bag to lift the softened gum away. This will harden the gum making it easier to take out. If there s any gum left over rub it with soapy water and white vinegar until it comes out.
