Because laminate is typically thinner and less sturdy than real wood it is critical that you properly level the subfloor before you install laminate.

I know this isn t necessary but some of my wood subfloor is a tiny bit uneven and i d feel more comfortable with a thicker underlayment i currently have laminate down with a thick felt silent walk underlayment.
